Refreshing smoothies 3 ways

In hot summer days, we just crave for a cool drink. Let’s see three different ways to prepare these healthy and refreshing iced beverages.

The decadent spicy chocolate smoothie will satisfy your sweet tooth. The salted maca smoothie, with its natural caramel taste, will boost your energy levels. The refreshing minty watermelon smoothie is the perfect companion for a hot day.

They are entirely plant based, so all their sweetness comes naturally from the fruits.

 

Ingredients for 1 portion

Spicy chocolate smoothie

  • 1 frozen banana, in pieces
  • 30 g of cashew nuts, as an alternative you can use hazelnuts or almonds
  • 2 dates, rehydrated in hot water
  • 3 teaspoons of cocoa powder
  • 2 cloves, crushed
  • 1 cardamom, only the seeds, crushed
  • a sprinkle of red chili pepper
  • ½ teaspoon of turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 150 ml of coconut milk

 

Salted maca smoothie

  • 1 frozen banana, in pieces
  • 30 g of cashew nuts, as an alternative you can use hazelnuts or almonds
  • 2 teaspoons of raw maca powder
  • 1 teaspoon of natural vanilla flavor, you can also use half a vanilla pod, scraping out the seeds
  • 1 date, rehydrated in hot water
  • 1 dried fig, rehydrated in hot water
  • a sprinkle of pink Himalayan salt
  • 150 ml of coconut milk

 

Minty watermelon smoothie

  • ¼ of frozen watermelon, in pieces
  • 5 fresh mint leaves
  • 200 ml of coconut water, you can also use mineral water

 

Method

Place the ingredients in your high-speed mini blender or traditional blender, blend for about 1 minute and serve immediately. Add liquid if necessary.
